About Mamas in Music
Mamas in Music (MiM) is the first global nonprofit dedicated to supporting mothers across the
music industry. Founded in 2019 by Tiff Randol and Mary Leay, MiM is building a more equitable
and sustainable music ecosystem by connecting mothers with community, career resources,
education, visibility, and meaningful industry opportunities. The organization is virtual-first and
globally connected, with locally rooted chapters in Africa, Europe, and The United States serving
those working throughout the music industry.
Mission
Our mission is to empower, connect, and advocate for mothers in the music industry—helping
them access the community, resources, opportunities, and support they need to build
sustainable careers while creating lasting, livable lifestyles inside and outside of the home.

1. What inspired the creation of Mamas in Music, and what does the organization’s
mission look like in action day-to-day?
Mamas in Music grew from a clear and deeply felt need: mothers working in music were
navigating an already demanding industry while also facing isolation, caregiving pressures, bias,
and a lack of meaningful support. Co-founders, Tiff Randol and Mary Leay, began by listening to
other mothers. They held hundreds of conversations and listening sessions with mothers to
understand what they were experiencing and what they needed most.
Today, our mission comes to life through connection and action. We create spaces where
mothers can share experiences and build genuine relationships; offer workshops focused on
music business, sync, wellness, and career development; facilitate song camps, showcases,
collaborations, and production opportunities; spotlight members’ work; and grow partnerships
that create greater access and visibility. We advocate for a music industry in which caregiving is
recognized and mothers in every role are seen, valued, and supported.
2. What does success look like for a mother navigating a music career—and
how does Mamas in Music help make that more achievable?
It can look different for every person, but one thing is consistent in all stories: success should
not require a mother to choose between a meaningful career and caring for their family. Mamas
in Music helps make that success more achievable by reducing isolation and expanding access.
Through our various programs, such as: peer community, educational programming,
professional resources, creative collaborations, industry partnerships, member spotlights, and
career opportunities, we help mothers build relationships and momentum. Just as importantly,
we work to shift the wider culture so that success is not only about how well an individual
mother adapts to the industry, but also about how the industry evolves to recognize and
support them.
3. What would you want other mothers in the industry—especially those who feel
isolated or unsure where to turn—to know about Mamas in Music?
We want them to know: you are not alone, and you do not have to navigate this industry alone.
There is a global community of mothers who understand the complexity of balancing creativity,
ambition, work, identity, and caregiving. Wherever you are in your career—or your motherhood
journey—you belong here. You do not need to have everything figured out before reaching out.
Mamas in Music is a place to find connection, discover opportunities, and be reminded that
motherhood does not diminish your talent, value, or professional potential.

Mamas in Music (MiM) es la primera organización sin fines de lucro global dedicada a apoyar a las madres en la industria de la música. 2) ¿Cómo se ve el éxito para una madre que construye una carrera en la música, y cómo ayuda Mamas in Music a que eso sea más alcanzable?
Puede verse diferente para cada persona, pero hay algo constante en todas las historias: el éxito no debería exigirle a una madre elegir entre una carrera significativa y el cuidado de su familia. Mamas in Music ayuda a que ese éxito sea más alcanzable reduciendo el aislamiento y ampliando el acceso. A través de nuestros diversos programas —como comunidad entre pares, programación educativa, recursos profesionales, colaboraciones creativas, alianzas con la industria, reconocimientos a miembros y oportunidades laborales— ayudamos a las madres a construir relaciones e impulso. About Amplify Her
Amplify Her is a community and platform created to connect, support and create opportunities for women across the music industry, from artists and creatives to industry professionals and music fans. Founded by independent artist Andrea Dee, Amplify Her grew from a personal need for genuine community. After more than 20 years in the music industry, Andrea wanted to create the kind of space she had often searched for herself: somewhere people could build meaningful relationships, share experiences openly, learn from one another and feel genuinely heard, seen and supported. Through live events, networking, education, songwriting camps and other opportunities, Amplify Her brings people together around a shared love of music while helping women build stronger careers and connections.
Mission
Our mission is to create a music industry where women feel empowered to take up space, build meaningful careers and support one another along the way. Amplify Her exists to connect creatives, professionals and music fans through real experiences, opportunities and education. We want to build a community where people don’t just exchange contacts — they form genuine relationships, collaborate, learn, grow and open doors for one another. Ultimately, we want everyone who comes into an Amplify Her space to leave feeling that everything is possible.
3 Questions:
1. What inspired you to create Amplify Her Live, and what gap or need did you feel you were responding to?
I created Amplify Her because it was something I personally needed. Throughout my career as an independent artist, I often wished I had a space where I could talk honestly about my music career, build genuine relationships within the industry and feel less alone navigating it all. I had also experienced situations where I didn’t feel properly valued, heard or seen, particularly in male-dominated environments. I knew I couldn’t be the only woman experiencing that. So rather than continuing to look for that community, I decided to build it. Amplify Her started from a desire to create a space where women could connect without competition, learn from each other’s lived experiences and create real opportunities for one another. It has grown into something much bigger than I originally imagined, but that sense of genuine connection is still at the heart of everything we do.
2. What does community mean to you, and what do you hope women and people who participate in Amplify Her Live feel when they are part of it?
For me, community means belonging. It’s knowing there are people around you who understand what you’re trying to do, who genuinely want to see you succeed and who are willing to share their knowledge, connections and experiences with you. The music industry can feel isolating, and the more successful you become the more lonely it becomes if you don’t have a strong foundation of people around you. Amplify Her is a place where you can go and share you highs and lows, we don’t really care about how successful you are we care about you as a human being.
When someone walks into an Amplify Her event, I want them to feel welcome. I want them to feel comfortable starting conversations, asking questions, sharing ideas and being themselves. Most importantly, I want people to leave feeling inspired, supported and more confident about what is possible for them. They might leave with a new collaborator, a new friend, an industry connection, an opportunity or simply the feeling that they are not doing this alone. If people leave thinking, “Everything is possible,” then we’ve done what we came to do.
3. What is the change you want Amplify Her Live to create — not just in the music industry, but in the lives and careers of the people you bring together?
I want Amplify Her to help create an industry where women aren’t constantly fighting for space, they’re helping to shape and lead the space. There are so many incredibly talented women across music who have the skills, ideas and experience to achieve extraordinary things. Sometimes what is missing isn’t ability; it’s access, confidence, opportunity or the right people around them. I want Amplify Her to help change that. That means creating opportunities for artists to perform and be discovered, helping people build genuine industry relationships, sharing knowledge that can move careers forward and connecting people who might go on to create something incredible together. But the impact I want goes beyond individual careers.
I want someone to be able to look back years from now and say, “I met that person through Amplify Her,” “I got that opportunity because of Amplify Her,” or “Being part of that community gave me the confidence to keep going.” My bigger vision is for Amplify Her to become an international movement connecting women across the entire music ecosystem, creatives, professionals and fans and creating a ripple effect of women opening doors for other women. If we can help people build careers they love, feel less alone while doing it and create opportunities that might otherwise never have existed, that’s real change.

1. ¿Qué te inspiró a crear Amplify Her Live y qué vacío o necesidad sentías que estabas intentando responder?
Creé Amplify Her porque era algo que yo misma necesitaba. A lo largo de mi carrera como artista independiente, muchas veces deseé tener un espacio donde pudiera hablar honestamente sobre mi carrera musical, construir relaciones genuinas dentro de la industria y sentirme menos sola mientras navegaba por todo esto.
También viví situaciones en las que no sentía que se valorara, escuchara o reconociera realmente mi trabajo, especialmente en entornos dominados por hombres. Sabía que no podía ser la única mujer viviendo algo así.
Así que, en lugar de seguir buscando esa comunidad, decidí crearla.
Amplify Her nació del deseo de crear un espacio donde las mujeres pudieran conectarse sin competencia, aprender de las experiencias de vida de las demás y crear oportunidades reales unas para otras. 2. ¿Qué significa para ti la comunidad y qué esperas que sientan las mujeres y las personas que participan en Amplify Her Live cuando forman parte de ella?
Para mí, comunidad significa pertenencia. Significa saber que hay personas a tu alrededor que entienden lo que estás intentando hacer, que realmente quieren verte triunfar y que están dispuestas a compartir contigo sus conocimientos, conexiones y experiencias.
La industria musical puede ser muy solitaria, y cuanto más éxito alcanzas, más puede aumentar esa sensación de soledad si no tienes una base sólida de personas a tu alrededor. Amplify Her es un lugar al que puedes acudir y compartir tus momentos altos y bajos. Realmente no nos importa cuán exitosa seas; nos importas como ser humano.
Cuando alguien entra a un evento de Amplify Her, quiero que se sienta bienvenida. Quiero que se sienta cómoda iniciando conversaciones, haciendo preguntas, compartiendo ideas y siendo ella misma.
Lo más importante es que quiero que las personas se vayan sintiéndose inspiradas, apoyadas y con más confianza en lo que es posible para ellas.
Tal vez se vayan con una nueva persona con quien colaborar, una nueva amistad, un contacto dentro de la industria, una oportunidad o simplemente con la sensación de que no están haciendo esto solas.
Si las personas se van pensando: “Todo es posible”, entonces habremos logrado aquello para lo que vinimos.
3. ¿Qué cambio quieres que Amplify Her Live genere —no solo en la industria musical, sino también en las vidas y carreras de las personas que reúnes?
Quiero que Amplify Her contribuya a crear una industria en la que las mujeres no estén constantemente luchando por conseguir un espacio, sino que estén ayudando a dar forma a ese espacio y liderarlo.
Hay muchísimas mujeres increíblemente talentosas en la música que tienen las habilidades, las ideas y la experiencia necesarias para lograr cosas extraordinarias. A veces, lo que falta no es capacidad; es acceso, confianza, oportunidades o tener a las personas adecuadas a su alrededor.
Quiero que Amplify Her ayude a cambiar eso.
Eso significa crear oportunidades para que las artistas actúen y sean descubiertas, ayudar a las personas a construir relaciones genuinas dentro de la industria, compartir conocimientos que puedan impulsar sus carreras y conectar a personas que podrían llegar a crear algo increíble juntas.
Pero el impacto que quiero generar va mucho más allá de las carreras individuales.
Quiero que alguien pueda mirar hacia atrás dentro de muchos años y decir:

Si podemos ayudar a las personas a construir carreras que amen, a sentirse menos solas mientras lo hacen y a crear oportunidades que de otro modo quizás nunca habrían existido, eso es un cambio real.
